Dennis Linde composed "Burning Love" for Elvis, who recorded the song at RCA's Hollywood studios on March 28, 1972. Linde played guitar on the recording. "Burning Love" reached #2 during its 15-week stay on Billboard's Hot 100 chart. Only Chuck Berry's "My Ding-a-Ling" kept Elvis from having yet another number one record. "Burning Love" reached #9 on the Easy-Listening chart. On October 27, 1972, the RIAA cerified the record as a million seller. An April 1972 concert performance of "Burning Love" was shown in the documentory Elvis On Tour. Elvis also sang it on his 1973 TV special, "Elvis, Aloha From Hawaii."
